Summer Camp

Summer Camp is the biggest event of the scouting year. We go every July for a whole week. Scouts can pick several merit badges and take classes to complete most of them at camp. We eat at a dining hall and use our outdoor skills to set up our campsite and navigate the grounds of the camp. There are opportunities for swimming, hiking, climbing, and boating, among other activities that vary by camp. Troop 54 most recently went to Camp Rodney, on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland, and Camp Onteora, in Livingston Manor, New York. A majority of our troop scouts travel to summer camp each year. The scouts are able to try new things, see new places, and build their scout skills. They bond with each other and meet scouts from other troops. It is a very unique experience for any boy scout with any skill level.
