The Scout Oath and Law

With scouting we follow a Oath and Law to try to be better people by following it.

The Scout Oath       On my honor, I will do my best to do my duty, to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; To help other people at all times; To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.

The Scout Law         A Scout is Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent.

Scouting

In scouting we stay in a fun environment.  We are in patrols of smaller groups that are made by year.  We go on 10 campouts a year and have a blast.  We also have Merit Badges to explore different careers.  Scouting is just a time to have fun.  To get the highest rank of Eagle Scout you have to complete the Eagle required Merit Badges, that are,  (a) First Aid, (b) Citizenship in the Community, (c) Citizenship in the Nation, (d) Citizenship in Society, (e) Citizenship in the World, (f) Communication, (g) Cooking, (h) Personal Fitness, (i) Emergency Preparedness OR Lifesaving, (j) Environmental Science OR Sustainability, (k) Personal Management, (l) Swimming OR Hiking OR Cycling, (m) Camping, and (n) Family Life.  Over all of them you will learn about government, camping, the outdoors, and personal stuff, like staying fit and money.
